Sun Jan 9th

Today was a fun day. We were tired of sitting around the house so we went out the front door, and we had no idea where we were going. We jumped into the car and just started driving south. Oh no...I need gas.

As you can see by the first 2 pictures, we really had no plan. But stay with me...it gets better. as we left the gas station we were driving south and we saw a sign for a nature park. We pulled in to check it out.
Nature trails dead ahead
We wandered down the path to the nature center, where we discovered this was a restoration park. They had returned this 250 acres back to how the land was before men developed south Florida. Pretty cool place. This first video was of us walking down the path to the center.
After that we walked around the paths for an hour and had gotten a pretty good idea of how the area looked 100 years ago, so we figured it was time to get a move on. We got back into the car and continued south. We just happened to drive right past the swap meet (the biggest flea market in South Florida) and Bonnie wanted to stop in. It was absolutely packed, so packed we had a hard time finding a parking place. And they have a lot of parking. We finally found a spot and started walking around. I have put pics of this place on before, so this time I took a video.....
We stayed there for a few hours, as a matter of fact we were there so long we had to get something to eat. There is a food court inside and we had a couple of burgers and watched some of the Kansas City playoff game on the huge TV in center court. It was pretty warm outside and we were sweating bullets so we took off again and headed for Fort Lauderdale beach to see if anybody was out. I found a pretty good parking place on a side street, dropped a couple of quarters in the meter and started for the beach. Here is a view from the street.
Looking South from the street
We walked across the street and headed for the water to get our toes wet. I took a couple of pictures, one looking south and one looking north. Quite a few people still out considering it was 4 in the afternoon. This beach is quite a bit larger than our beach, and it is a famous destination for spring break for kids all across the country.

Looking South
We hung out down there till 4:30 and decided to head for home to make diner. As we were walking toward the car, we realized we forgot where we parked. LOL we wandered down the street looking up each side street looking to see if we could catch a glimpse of our car. as we passed one street I saw the back corner of a silver Honda I thought was ours. Bonnie objected, But I was sure it was ours, so we started down that street and as we got closer I saw it was not ours. We were at the end of the block so we headed down the street a block off of the ocean and 2 blocks later, We found the car! Here is a picture of our discovery..
There's our car!
As we headed for home we got a video of the beach as we were driving north...

And that was our day.....just another day in paradise!
