Jan 10th and 11th
Its Tuesday night and I have had a slow couple of days. Monday we did laundry, and you know how that goes....Sit by the pool and wait. We worked on our tans and swam a little. We did all the bedding and towels so it really took up the bulk of the day. After laundry was done, which was around 2:30 we went back up to the condo and there was a note from Fed Ex on the door saying we missed a delivery. It had to be my new phone, I had talked my cell phone provider into replacing my phone as my touch screen had quit responding. It had been since Thursday when I had sent mine in. We ran over to Fed Ex to retrieve the package and it was indeed, my phone. I got home and began the nightmare process of getting my new phone activated. You see I go through Straight Talk, Which is a prepaid wireless from Wal-Mart. It cost us 45 bucks a month and is unlimited everything. When We decided to retire we were looking for the best prices on everything we could find. Well their coverage is good, their customer service is horrible. First of all you can not find anybody that speaks English as a first language, and if they speak English, it is a a most basic level. I call and get a person that does speak English fairly well, much to my suprise! I explain that I just received my new phone, and I needed to get it activated. After about 30 minutes of being on hold she told me she was going to assign me a new phone number. WHAT? I go into a fury explaining I have had that number for 10 years and I will not accept a new number. She goes into shock and gets her boss, who then gets her boss. This takes about 2 hours....cut to the end.....I get told I can have my old number back but it will take 3 to 5 days. I am outraged again, but I concede, just to get my old number back. After that I needed to get my blood pressure back to a sub normal level so we drove down to the beach and took a couple mile walk. I forgot my camera so I have no pictures. (sorry) we came home and went to bed. This morning we got up around 9 am, We ate a breakfast of toast and fruit, and just hung around the condo watching television and checking on our e-bay account. We had some items sell Monday night and were awaiting payments. We had 3 Tommy Bahama shirts sell. 1 sold for $31 1 sold for $20 and 1 sold for $10. We had gotten them for 5 bucks apiece at a goodwill. We have about 10 of them non my size, thankfully, because they are my favorite kind of shirt. So we have to go to the post office tomorrow to get them off. So the last 2 days have been just hanging out at the condo for the most part. My phone just started working tonight, so if needed I can be reached again, although I have lost all my contact info and do not know any phone numbers except my Mom and Dad's home phone number, which is the same as it was when I was a kid. Well that's all from the condo in paradise, I will take some pictures tomorrow so we can get some color in here. All this black and white can not be good for our eyes.
