gone, but not forgotten.

Our company left us after a week of fun in the sun. We took them down to Key West on Saturday and brought them back on Sunday.
It was a blast as we shopped and looked at sights and of course walked Duvall street Saturday night while consuming some beverages. On Monday we went to Hardrock Casino down in Hollywood and then drove to the beach to hang out. They flew out on Tuesday afternoon and we went home and napped.

Of course...any visitor of ours has to get this picture taken...

We have been looking for a cabin closer to Des Moines for a while and Bonnie got an email from a realtor for this house up by Red Rock lake, which is much closer to Des Moines than our current cabin. Our cabin is 80 miles from town, and this one is 30 miles.

From the street view

This one is a HUD owned house and is appraised for 109,000 and they are asking 43,000 for it. We offered 37,000 and they countered with 40,000.

We have accepted the counter offer and are awaiting the paperwork.
It will be the first time we have ever bought a house without looking at it....YIKES! It sits on 1.6 acres and is a 3 bedroom with 1500 square feet of living space with a 2 car attached garage. As soon as we close on it we will be returning to Iowa for the final closing procedures. So we may be seeing you all soon. LOL.

Gotta go for now...will keep you all posted.

Back from San Antonio

I flew to San Antonio for a 4 day show. After a layover in Houston,
Houston, we have a problem.

I landed in San Antonio around 4 in the afternoon. I had nothing to do until the next morning so I decided to head down to see if I could find the Alamo. After a bit of searching and finding a parking spot for 5 bucks, I wandered around and found the Alamo tucked in a bunch of modern buildings. It made me wonder what the defenders of the fort would have thought.
Where is Davey Crockett?

Night falls on the Alamo

After a little sightseeing I went back to the hotel and checked in. My room was nice, and had some french doors (windows?) that I could open. Perfect for a smoker that hates to go downstairs and out front of the hotel to smoke.
My home for the next few days.

My escape route

The next morning I used my android phone to find the Alamo dome, where the show was being held, so I could help set up the booth.
What a mess...

Not any more...

The show ended up selling 14 beds and I sold 12 of them. It was only 3 days so the time went fast. I flew home on Monday and
had to get ready as we had a couple of freinds flying in on Wednesday to spend a week with us. That couple of days flew by and next thing I know, we are at the airport picking them up.
They are here...

We just hung out that night as it was already 7:30pm when they arrived. The next morning we took them down to ride an airboat. They really wanted to see the everglades and ride on an airboat.
fired up about the boat ride..

After the boat ride was stopped into a indian casino which is located nearby. We spent several hours in the casino. Bonnie and I lost a little, but I think Terry and Joanne won a little. We pulled out of the casino and stopped to get gas across the street, and much to our suprise, they had some festivities going on over there.
Miami heat girls...really? yup...really!

Miller girls...they sold Terry, and he only drinks old mil..

Bonnie likes tall guys..
Terry shakin his booty to some latin music.

All of us winners..Not sure what we won? it was fun though.

The Miami heat mascot hugging us goodbye..

Thats all from here for now...Looking for some more fun...
