We got up to the sound of the furnace running. Hey, aren't we supposed to be in tropical south Florida? It was overcast and cool. We turned on the tv to check the weather forecast for the morning...Oh no...only upper 50"s. Well we had to decide what to do, I couldn't stay in for another day, I had never left the condo the day before. We sat around for the morning and Bonnie made scrambled eggs and English muffins. At noon we decided to shower and venture out and about with no particular place in mind. We finally left the condo at 1 and headed straight to the beach. It was sprinkling lightly, very overcast and quite cool. The only thing that made it tolerable was thinking of my family in Iowa freezing. We got to the beach and it was as expected and quite abandoned, although it is a humbling experience standing on an empty beach in front of the magnificence of the Atlantic ocean in all its glory! It makes you feel your insignificance on this rock we all call home.

We stayed at Deerfield beach for about 15 min, then took off south on A1A. We drove down to Ft Lauderdale beach and stopped at this little coffee shop right on the beach and grabbed a cup of coffee.

We then kept driving south until we got to the Hollywood Florida Beach. We had never been there and wanted to check it out. It was very nice and much larger than Deerfield Beach. We walked the boardwalk for abit while I snapped these pics.

We thought this building was cool looking
We then saw this little ocean cafe called Oceans 311. It was 3 in the afternoon so we went in and grabbed some lunch.

I'm hungry!

If it wasn't so cold out we would have sat here.
After lunch we walked down to the beach looking for any neat shells. We figured there may be some down there as there were not many people out on the beach.

Free reign of the beach, all the shells are ours!
By the time we got done walking around it was 4:30 so we figured it was time to head for home. It is supposed to be mid 70's tomorrow, then close to 80 sat and Sunday. Beach time this weekend!
Have a great night and talk to you tomorrow!
