Friday Dec 10th

We slept in till around 9am full of excitement as it was supposed to be much nicer outside. I jumped out of bed, opened the sliders, grabbed my camera and filmed this...

I just watched it tonight and it made me laugh. As a matter of fact I am still chuckling. Anyway, it was much nicer outside. So we showered and threw on our shorts and t shirts and took off to explore some more. I had found a map of where to find manatees. The only problem was once we left the condo we quickly realized I had forgotten the map. No problem, I told Bonnie, I memorized the map. LOL
We searched the area down in Ft Lauderdale for 2 hours with no luck. We finally decided since we were close, we would run over to the swap shop. The swap shop is that huge flea market we had been to a couple of times before. I took this video of the covered part of the market.

After wandering around there for a few hours we decided to head for home..it was around 3:30, and we stopped at a McDonald's to grab a cheeseburger. I ran in and got our food, we were sitting in the car eating when this large poorly dressed lady staggered up to my window, which was down. She apologized for walking up while we were eating, in a thick New York accent, then told me she just got out of kemo for her cancer and was starving. I felt bad for her and gave her a dollar, and upon receipt she asked where we were from. I told her Iowa, and without hesitation, told us never to move here as people are mean. She told us people call her a "fat pig" and a "disgusting Jew". She thanked us for the dollar and wandered into the McDonald's. We looked at each other and said...WHAT? We love it here! Its  strange how different everybody's experiences and perspectives are. We then went home because we were both feeling the late afternoon sleepiness. We got home a little after 4 and turned on the TV and were both snoozing in 5 min. I woke up, looked at the clock and was shocked as it was 6pm. We got up and decided as it was such a nice night we would run down to the beach and see what was happening down there. It was quite busy, with lots of people.  By the way Dan, when we were down to the beach tonight walking around there was great Island music playing,We thought of you guys.  I went to grab the camera...where is it? Darn! I forgot it! I will bring it tomorrow night. Well it is late and we have some serious garage saling to do tomorrow. Later Gators
