Finally Retired

11/10/2010 I have been so busy I am just getting to post. My last day was Sunday Oct 30th...then I had to wrap up all the lose ends with the Des Moines house. I had to tear a wall out to install a heat register, then install a new floor in the kitchen. I found out I suck at installing new floors. LOL. that took up most of my first week of being retired so I really did not feel retired. Any ways Sunday the 7th I went to the cabin where Bonnie had been waiting for me to get that done and just relaxed. Monday we put our Geo convertible into the shed and bought a new cover for our Jeep and completely sealed that up. We got the van loaded and exhausted our brains trying not to forget anything essential, which I am sure we did, oh well we will get by. went to bed Monday night to get some rest.
We woke up at 6 am Tuesday morning...did not want to but I think the excitement of leaving got to us. We got up and showered then went about the process of winterizing the cabin. That includes blowing all the water out of the lines and putting some anti freeze into all the traps. putting away all of the outdoor furniture and accessories ( all Bonnie's) and putting the Grill away. then we were off by 10:30 am, excitement in the air big time! We decided to go down to Springfield Missouri first to see Bonnie's son Tim as he just celebrated a birthday the previous week. That brings us to date as I am sitting in their driveway now and it is 8:30 am.
Bonnie is in the house visiting. Not sure where we are headed today, but I will be posting more reliably now as I believe I have time. Still don't feel retired.....Until my next Internet connection.....
