We love the beach

We got up around 9 and jumped into the shower with anticipation on our minds. Today we were going to the beach for the first time since I got back from Iowa. We got to our parking place around 10:45 and grabbed our gear.

We got our spot and set up base camp. Our plan....Swim and layout then swim some more and lounge on the beach some more. We accomplished both. It was upper 80's and sunny, and the beach was packed.

At 12:30 we were starved so I walked down to the subway (about a block from the beach) and grabbed a 12 inch black forest ham. I walked back to the campsite and grabbed a coke out of the cooler, and gobbled down our sandwich. Bonnie had parked under the umbrella and was encouraging me to do the same but I said I needed the sun. Oooops, I thought if I already had a tan I couldn't burn....lesson number 342....the sun in Florida is a lot more lethal than in Iowa I guess. We left around 2.
At 4 we headed down to Fort Lauderdale to look at a 2005 prius with 80K for 8200 dollars.
The guy said he would be home by 4 so it should have been no problem, however once we arrived he did not answer his door. The car was in the driveway and it looked good. We decided to run up the street to Joe's Crab Shack and eat dinner while we waited for his return call. Bonnie ordered the snow crab and I got a chicken sandwich, and the food was excellent.

 The guy called while we were eating so as soon as we paid we ran back over there to drive the car. As soon as we took off I knew, as a previous prius owner, this was a piece of crap. The motor came on instantly, the battery gauge was almost fully discharged and it sounded funny. As we were driving the steering was sloppy. This thing was beat on by someone. We went back and left asap. The search continues.  On the way home we ran across a Blockbuster movie store that was going out of business so we stopped and bought a few movies for 2.99 apiece and went home. I gotta go....movies await....until next time.
