The Blimp

We decided to go down to the river walk today to get some exercise. Its about a 2 mile round trip walking down and back. We got down there by 10:30, found a parking spot and fed the meter.
Bonnie....wait up...
The walk is very picturesque, lots of boats, flowers and trees. Speaking of trees, what the heck kinda tree is this? and what are those things growing on it?

What kinda tree is this?

Click on the picture to make it full size...then tell me what they are
They are about a foot long and I have no Idea what they are. I took a few pictures of some of the sights so you could get an Idea of what it looks like walking the river walk.

That is one crooked tree

Look at the gray boat on the right...probably 10 million bucks

Getting ready to leap over this...in a single bound

Bridge going down

there was a guy sitting there reading the paper...probably lives on board

Flowers on the trees.

flowers on the buildings...flowers everywhere
We stopped at the science center, but didn't go in because we only had 2 hours on the meter. I really want to check that out, so we will plan a day to go through it and take a lot of pictures.

Science Center...sweet!
We heard it is really cool in there. After an hour of walking, and not having had any breakfast, we decided to stop at Briny's Irish restaurant to have lunch. It is right on the riverwalk and a very unique place.

Kinda eclectic mess of a decorating job

Jungle queen..My sister Deb took us on this 18 years ago
Lunch was good, Bonnie had a BLT and I had a cheeseburger in paradise. After lunch we walked back to the car and headed into Ft lauderdale to see what we could find. We hadn't went to far when we discovered a Salvation Army store we had never been to, so in we went. We were in luck as it was wacky Wednesday. 50% off all the junk. 2 hours later we came out with 5 Tommy Bahama shirts and some misc. We have had pretty good luck with the sales of Tommy shirts on e-bay and we got these for a pretty good price. We then headed for home to get ready for Idol. We were almost home when we saw the Goodyear blimp coming down. I Spun the car around and headed to the landing place, which is about 4 miles from our condo. I got there just in time for these pictures and video.
note the blimp emblem on the lower right

and there is the blimp coming in

a little zoom magic...and you have a closeup

On the ground

Then it was home to relax. It ain't easy being cheesy. I gotta go...
