Sat Feb 5th

Well, sorry for the late post, I had no internet connection. We got laid over in Key West. Actually we went to Key West and started drinking and Couldn't drive home. Well let me start at the beginning of the day. We came up with a plan to drive to the Keys and back.
We took off at 9am sharp. Took around 1 and 1/2 hours and we were in Key largo. That is the first Island in the chain. There are about 15 to 20 islands in a chain all connected by bridges. Key west is the last island in the chain , and the most southern point in the United States. From Key Largo to Key West  is appx 110 miles, but it is a 2 lane road and the speed limit is 45 to 55 MPH. Plus there are many beautiful points along the way. As a matter of fact, it is all unbelievably picturesque. We were planning on driving straight to Key West, but that didn't happen. We stopped in Key Largo, which is the first island.
Who wouldn't stop for a giant shrimp? hey...thats an oxymoron!
We then traveled down further to Islamarada and stopped at a Tiki bar we had been to before. As a matter of fact it is the same place we saw the manatee in November.

Tiki Bar!!!
Loving the warm weather!
This green is the color of the water in the Keys.
We drove..stopped...drove...stopped and finally made it to Key west at 5 in the afternoon. We got a floating house at the marina and settled in.

After having a beverage we went outside and met the neighbors. There was this couple living in a boat right outside our room on the other side of the dock, and I chatted with him for quite a while. Meanwhile Bonnie was getting to know the difference between fish from some fisherman.
Hey!! Whats going on out here?
Here comes Terry from our cabin.
After socializing for a while we got ready to go down to Duval street and do the Duval Street crawl. We had heard about it but never done it, and it was Saturday night, so we were ready. But first....gotta show the tourists the tourist stuff...
What? Cuba? When? Where?
Now....Off to the bars...

Wasting away again in Margaritaville...
I didn't take a lot of pictures because I didn't want to carry my camera along...But some of the street performers were cool, and I had my phone...so here they are

Around 1 in the morning we headed back to the float...we than went to the patio for a nightcap. We met this french couple, who were already sitting up there. They took this picture.
Darn French...Pictures blurry..
After that....bedtime...I hope I don't have a hangover....
