Where have I been?

Haven't been very diligent on keeping up with my blog ever since my stroke. I seemed to have been on a very slow recovery process. Even though I regained most of my motor functions rather quickly, I had some much more subtle issues that were slower to recover. such as my speech, even though it mostly came back, i found it harder to communicate in my fashion. (fast talking) I would trip over words and it was bothering me. Also I would tire out much easier than before and I felt exhausted easier and much more often than I ever had in my life. So its been a long and slow recovery. The good news is I think I am getting closer to back to normal. (at least my normal)

After my last job in LA I was home for a week or so, and the it was off to San Francisco for a quick 4 day show.
see the plane? You have to fly over the bay to land at San Fran airport.

I had decided, I don't think Bonnie was for it, to fly from San Fran to Deerfield Beach, so I could get my car and drive it home. We had decided to bring it to Iowa since we would now have a garage to keep it in during the winter. And I figured I could kill two birds with one cheaper stone by flying down there on the company's dime.
one last look at the beach...until we meet again.

After a quick two day drive, I was home. I had to run into town to run some errands so I stopped by my sons house and said Hi.
Steven Petersen and Eli Steven Petersen

The following weekend was my and Bonnie's and Dan and Robyn's anniversaries, and Dan had suggested an Idea to got to this winery that was having a 6 year anniversary party and Dan mentioned free wine glasses and food, so off we went.
Dan and Robyn were late so we took their glasses

We stopped in Pella for lunch. When in Rome...

I then had to fly to Salt Lake City for a 4 day show. the day before my flight we closed on the new house, so it was a long 4 days as I couldn't wait to get home to explore our newly obtained farmstead.
Salt Lake was quite beautiful. that is the event center where the show was being held.
I was in a hurry to get home, so I offered to drive. My offer was denied.

As soon as I got home we went and searched for a new (new to us) riding mower. We have a small 8 horse we use at the cabin, but we are mowing about 2 acres here and the little mower is not gonna get it done. we ended up finding one on the side of the hwy just north of Indianola. It is a John Deer 19 horse front deck unit.
got it for 600 bucks, which after some quick Internet research I deduced was an excellent purchase price.

The next weekend ny niece Shonna had her baby and my parents and my sister from Virginia were in town, so I escaped the hard labor camp.....I mean I left the farm and headed into town to see the family.

A few days later my granddaughter was graduating from pre school so I went back in to attend the event and grab a few pictures.

I then got invited by my son Dean to attend his churches annual Father-son weekend campout.  I found out my brother and his son were also going to attend, so I figured it would be a good time to do some male bonding, so I accepted the invite.
It ended up being an exhausting time, but a very rewarding experience as well. We played baseball, volleyball, football shoulder burnout and fishing and some things I cannot remember.

My nephew Canyon breaking the bad news.

After that weekend I went back to the farm for some more fixing stuff until Thursday the 6th when I had to fly to LA for 12 days to do a couple of shows.
Time to break some more rocks...

Now that I am caught up I will resume my duty to keep my blog up to date. Until next time....
